A Cold Walk in the Park

This is my daily painting - a watercolor which is 12" x 6" and is painted on 140 lb. cold pressed watercolor paper.  This painting was done entirely in Antwerp Blue, Cadmium Orange, Cadmium Light Red, and Paynes Grey.

Oh...it certainly does look cold! Nice use of colors. You create such beautiful paintings in so little time- i admire and envy you!

I don't know how long I will do this because I have other artistic obligations I am anxious to attack - but I can tell that this is helping me loosen up and attack the paper and is taking away that ever present fear of the empty, white paper that I think most artists experience to some degree.

Hi, Enjoying your daily paintings and I check them as often as possible, here in Israel. Speaking for myself only, I wouldn't mind if you had to miss a day or two or three but I would be sad if you discontinued completely. Therefore I suggest, if it has become a burden (or threatens to become such), what about a weekly painting?
By the way, have you seen

I like this one a lot - there is cold in the scene but warmth in the two people together :)

Nicole,
I plan to post whenever I can - so keep checking! I am obsessed with painting, so there will be paintings.
Thanks for following me clear from Israel - I am honored!

Hi Rhonda - funny that you should mention the warmth of the people walking - a friend told me that where there is back lighting as in this painting, that there should be warm colors as a halo around the object, so if you look closely, there is red-orange around the tops of the figures. I discovered that I forgot shadows from the trees so I plan to go back into this painting and add some shadows today.
