This is my daily contribution to my blog, but it is also a painting for the Watercolor Workshop January project. The members are to paint their version of a painting submitted by Kathy Nesseth using 3 analogous colors. I selected yellow orange, orange and red orange for my three colors. Analogous colors are colors that are next to each other of the color wheel. This painting is 8" x 6" and is painted on 140 lb. Arches cold-pressed watercolor paper.

Thanks, Peggy! I like to work with shapes - I guess to the point of getting too tight! I have always been entranced with shapes.
What a completely different look you've achieved with your analogous colors - very interesting and appealing color combo.
This has an almost oriental feel, don't you think. I love how you have modified the path of the water - small change, but great impact! Well done!

Rhonda...Isn't it amazing what a difference the color scheme can make? The only problem was getting the values dark enough.
Christiane...my friend Michelle told me that she thought this had an oriental feel - it wasn't intentional, but I like the idea. Thank you for your comments.
