I went to Michelle's studio on Tuesday evening where she set up a still life that we painted from. I included the ugly vase and then discovered that Michelle and Julie didn't even include it in their paintings!!! Now - I ask you..."What was the vase there for in the first place?" I was an obedient student and put it in my composition. Oh well! The painting is 11" x 14" and is painted on 140 lb. FabrianoArtistico cold-pressed watercolor paper.
Welcome to Barb's Daily Creations! I have lofty ambitions - I want to post a new drawing or painting every day. The purpose of this, of course is to stay creative and on task artistically even when I may not feel the muses calling, prodding and pushing. I hope that you enjoy my humble efforts, because, ultimately, that is the purpose of creating art - to enrich lives - mine and yours. Thanks for visiting!
Write it on your heart that every day is the best day of the year.

Barb, congratulations on being such a good student:-) I love the shine of the tomatoes and the overall composition. You are such a fast painter...it would take me ages to paint this painting half as well as this!
Christiane - you are so very kind! Thanks so much for you positive comments!
I absolutely love your latest painting of the smiling sculpture - it is great!
There you go again with that beautiful palette of yours. If I were using those colors, Iwould muck it up in short order! The tomatoes are wonderful!
Lovely! I love it of course...:) Great to hear you are getting around a bit better!

Dabs
Barb, just lovely. The vase is very pretty and the tomatoes look like I could reach out and grab them.
Barb, I am so glad that you are getting out. I really like your painting and can't imagine it without the vase.
I think that ugly vase was there to challenge you to either eliminate it or paint it in pretty colors! ha ha
Dee, Dabs, Kathy, Norena and Rhonda! First of all - thanks so much for your wonderful comments. Now to the "Vase!" - you don't know how close I came to cropping it off of the painting entirely - so am glad you like it; as far as getting out - it was great to go out for an evening of painting - good company, some wine, and elk sausage and crackers for snacks. It was such a good time!
