The challenge this week is to tangle with "a doll shaped string!" I decided to work with a Victorian doll string - or in this case - drawing, and then fill it in with tangles.
This is 8" x 6" and is done on white drawing paper with Micron pens .01 and .05, and Prismacolor colored pencil.
She looks a little stiff, but, of course, she is a doll!

I am also jealous of your ability to draw freehand. My response to the challenge brought back memories of playing with cut out dolls and for some reason channeled my inner Scarlett O'Hara. I see you also were inspired to come up with a puffy skirt. The better to tangle with, I guess. Tangle on!

LezliB - Thank you...she is like the doll I would have loved to get, but didn't - in those days the 2nd WWar was roaring and children didn't get fancy dolls, unfortunately.I did dream, though!

Suzanne - I was addicted to drawing beautiful women with puffy skirts, a la Scarlett O'hara - of course, when I was 13, Gone With The Wind was my favorite book and I read it 3 times. I also loved to design dresses for paper dolls. I never played with them, just dressed them!!!

David - thank you so much, once again for being so supportive. I love Mooka because it seems to fit into everything. I purposely made this figure stiff because it is supposed to be a doll, but it certainly looks like something I would have drawn in junior high.
This doll is really wonderful, you are so talented. Stiff? I think that makes her more like a doll than ever. Loving the seton in the background print too! Each tangle seems so appropriate for this dolly.
How lovely! Your tangles and colors are stunning. She looks like a real paper doll to be cut out and dressed repeatedly, but with such a pretty dress, I doubt she'd ever want to change. Thank you for playing with my challenge this week. :-)
