Day 25: 30 Paintings in 30 Days

Day 25:  This is a transparent watercolor loosely based on a photograph from the Paint My Picture website - I have taken many liberties and have not really tried to do this as a realistic portrait, but to depict emotion and feeling not really in the original photograph.
This painting  is 9" x 7" and is painted on 120 lb. printmaking paper in two colors - sepia and burnt sienna.

That face looks familiar - is this a photo by Li Newton from the Bahamas? I painted this gentleman (not successfully, yet) in a Janet Rogers portrait workshop years ago and I think I got the photo from Li at WetCanvas back then. You did a fine job on getting the feeling right - interesting and well painted.

You guessed it! It is a portrait from Li Newton - I thought it was from PMP but could have been from WetCanvas. I drew it so loosly that I am surprised that you recognized it.
