The Cafe Verandah

Hello to all...I haven't been posting for some time because I have been wheel chair bound for 2 weeks.  I have been eperiencing a lot of back pain for some time and the specialist told me yesterday that I have spinal stenosis and will have to have surgery - not a fun time.

I have been able to do a little painting and have finished this watercolor for my Christmas card.  This is a painting of a successful restaurant in my town, the Cafe Verandah in Jackson Center, Ohio.  the painting is 8" x 10" and is on 140 lb. cold-pressed watercolor paper.

Soory to hear about your back pain. Hope that you recover soon. This is a beautiful painting. I hope you would not work hard while your pain is still there. Cheers and happy holiday season.

Sorry about the pain in your back, not fun, I know. Tried moving the generator yesterday because we lost power from a wind storm that downed massive trees and wrenched mine. It's been killing me all night and still is. Had to call my hubby who was at my grandson's school to come home and get out the generator. Anyway, love this painting. I'm loving snow scenes more and more these days. Wonderful!

Cora - Thanks for commenting. Actually, I am painting because I have to be in a recliner - I am very grateful that there is something I can do other than watch TV. Seasons greetings to you also.

Hi Carol...so sorry to hear about you wrenching your back - I hope you are feeling better today. We have had such severe wind storms this year...the weather is nuts anymore.
My surgery for spinal stenosis is scheduled for Jan. 17, so I will be immobile for a while.
Take care of yourself.

The painting is beautiful, Barb. I think you should show it to the restaurant owners to see if they will buy it - a perfect painting for them! I'm so sorry to hear about your back pain and problems. I'm sending you lots of healing thoughts and wishes; I know you don't want surgery but sometimes it has to happen to get you back to 100% again.
