I did this painting in the workshop tonight - it is a study that started with value shapes and then I worked up to details at the end. This is also much looser than I usually paint. The workshop was wonderful and I learned much from this wonderful teacher - Christopher Leeper.

Thanks, Brenda...I enjoy the new loose me, but am not certain I am ready to give up the old "tight-butt" Barb! :)
Loose creates a sense of depth, especially when used on background elements, young grasshopper.

That's what draws me into this painting, it just feels like I could walk right into it.
