Water in Zentangle - I am The Diva Challenge #181

The challenge this week is to depict "Water" in Zentangle and this is the design I came up with - very stylized drops of water.

This Zentangle was embellished with a chalk background and then I outlined the design with .05 Micron-
Pigma pen and finished the colors with Prismacolor colored pencils.

This is 6"x6" and is done on good white drawing paper.

I Am The Diva: Weekly Challenge 174: Superimposing Strings

This is my contribution to this week's Diva Challenge: Superimposing Strings.  For those of you who do not Zentangle, a string is the linear pattern which you lay down first, in which your tangle patterns are drawn ( in the sections, or outside, etc., or, in my case, both.

I did this tangle on 5" x 5"  good white drawing paper.  It doesn't look white because my camera is getting crazy.  I used Sakura Micron-Pigma waterproof ink drawing pens and an HB pencil for shading in some areas.

I discovered that I am really way too intricate on this one - Oh well - live and learn!  As I said before, I am new to this tangling thing. :0

Redux, Remix, Revisit Your Comfort Tangle

The Diva's Challenge this week was for the "Tanglers" to redux, remix and revisit their comfort tangles...those favorite tangles that you go to because you are comfortable with them and they just seem to sort of fit your style.

I chose to do variations of "Betweed" and "Scrolled Feather" for my two tangles.  I contrasted the straight, hard geometric lines and shapes of Betweed against the soft curves of the Scrolled Feather. This actually turned out to be a Zendala in the end.

Then we were asked to select another medium to shade with, and I selected Prismacolor colored pencils and kept an analogous color scheme with warm colors.

Village Four: Green Acres

Surrounding every village will be farmland and farms, so today's tangle is "Green Acres!"  This tangle has a "too" busy sky - I guess I got carried away with tangling!  This tangle was created on white drawing paper (3 1/2" x 3 1/2") with Micron-Pigma waterproof black drawing pens and a green Sakura gel pen.

Village Menagerie

This is the third in the Village Series - a real menagerie of weird shapes and designs.  This tangle is 3 1/2" x 3" and is drawn on white drawing paper with Micron-Pigma waterproof drawing pens.  To me it looks like a lot of crazy bird houses gone wild!

Village Two

This is the second tangle in the Village Series...it is also 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" in size and is on good white drawing paper.  It is also created with Micron-Pigma waterproof drawing pens.
