I recently completed this commissioned painting of Jackson Center High School in Jackson Center, Ohio. The finished painting is 8 1/2 " x 11" and is painted on 140 lb. Fabriano Artistico cold-pressed watercolor paper. This is the 3rd painting commissioned by this patron for her son, who no longer lives in the district. The first was of the Big Four Bridge, and The Spot Restaurant, both in Sidney, Ohio. This is the last year for the high school which will be torn down in 2016 to make way for a new high school. So - this is especially special to her son. This is special to me, also, because I taught 28 of my 43 years teaching art in this building.
Welcome to Barb's Daily Creations! I have lofty ambitions - I want to post a new drawing or painting every day. The purpose of this, of course is to stay creative and on task artistically even when I may not feel the muses calling, prodding and pushing. I hope that you enjoy my humble efforts, because, ultimately, that is the purpose of creating art - to enrich lives - mine and yours. Thanks for visiting!
Write it on your heart that every day is the best day of the year.
