The Ware Family Farm

I have not posted for a week because I am in the process of finishing up on this painting of an old family farm just outside of Jackson Center.  It is no longer standing.  Thank goodness we have an old photo (2 1/2 x 4") to go by.  I scanned the photo into my computer and printed it out as 8"x10" to work from which was very helpful.  The finished painting is 24" x 42" and is painted on a gesso coated masonite board.  I still plan to work on the trees some, but otherwise the painting is finished.  It has taken a couple months to complete because I was also teaching a mixed media class this summer.   It is a shame that this home is no longer standing.

Barb, I have the impression that I am right inside the painting! I love the serene and peaceful atmosphere.

Christiane...thank you so much...I hope he likes it when he sees it. It took much longer than I anticipated. I took some liberties with it - especially with the colors - hope they go over also!

wow Barb - I love your Ware Family Farm. The house just speaks to me. So sorry it isn't still standing but looks like you have preserved it well. Take care and thanks so much for sharing.
