I finished this painting this afternoon - it is one of the month's projects for the Watercolor Workshop - All Paint From One Photo! This photograph was submitted by Cathy Geha - the necklace was her mother's. The painting is 8" x 10" and is painted on 140 lb. cold-pressed watercolor paper for Fabriano Artistico.

Ok, that's a winner!
I wanna see you enter this somewhere: OWS, AWS
This is so well done, Barb, I'm sorry you can't enter it in a major show - but maybe Cathy would give you permission and a copy of the photo? That would cover the bases, I think although some say you have to have taken the photo? Anyway, it's gorgeous and the colors just dance on the paper.
Thanks, Donna! I'll consider it!
Thanks, Rhonda - I may enter it into a show - but definitely not OWS, etc. If I use someone elses photo I always get permission and often they are pictures that my friend Pamela or I have taken. I am careful about that after some of the things that have happened at some of the big shows.
The beads are beautiful, but what really makes this painting for me are the shadows and reflections. So soft and with such subtle colors! Really beautiful job!
Susan...thank you so much...I agree that the shadows seemed to pull it all together!
