Zentangles # 1

I have known for a long time that I just can't sit and watch television without doing something with my hands, (I suffer from ADHD -seriously!), thus I have discovered the meditative doodling called Zentangle.  These Zentangles were created during the last month while watching "March Madness" basketball.  This answers my need to be "doing" something while enjoying great basketball.

These have been drawn on 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" chips of white drawing paper...for some reason that size is considered perfect for Zentangling.  I used Sakura Micron Pigma black ink drawing pens for these. I have done several and will post them over the next few days.

Barb, these are so well-done. So many of my watercolor friends have become addicted to Zentangle, mainly due to the teaching by Margaret Storer-Roche, one of our local art club friends. Her Zentangle blog is at: http://waterblossoms.blogspot.com/ and I think you will enjoy her almost daily blog posts.

Barb - I just may have to get doing these myself - they look so calming. Have a great week-end.

Wow, you've really gotten some great shapes and lines in these :) Have you ever thought of doing them on watercolor paper and then adding color? Bet they would really pop - but you might not be able to do them while watching t.v. :)

Rhonda - some people do use watercolors on w/c paper and combine with the Zentangles - they have a name for it - "Zentangle Inspired Art!" Not for watching t.v.
