Macdragon's Magnolia

This is the painting I have prepared for the class Monday night at Riverside Arts Center in Wapakoneta.  It is from a photograph by Macdragon which I found on WetCanvas.com - a great website for artists.  The photos are in a reference library and are there for artists to use, royalty-free.  The painting is 9" x 12" and is painted on 140 lb. Fabriano-Artistico cold-pressed watercolor paper.

This is sure to be a hit, Barb. Lots of luck and fun with the class.

I do love your florals, Barb.
How did you get the black background? Did you use black out of the tube or mix your own?

Thanks, Carol! I sure hope they like it!

Hi Susan,
Thanks for the comment! I never use black - don't own any, actually. I used indigo for the background - a rick mixture which translates as black when photographed. When I want black I use either ultramarine blue/burnt sienna, or viridian green and alizarine crimson.
